D Street Outreach Programs Inc. is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization with a special focus on reducing destructive behavior in young people. We fulfill the goals of our mission statement through a synergy of live events, advertising campaigns, literature and online services.
The Honorable Timothy C. McDonough, Mayor, Hope Township, New Jersey, has been Mayor for 15 years. He has dedicated to career helping people and making the world better for young people. He is on the Board of Directors of New Jersey D.A.R.E. and is the First Vice President of the New Jersey League of Municipalities.
Arthur L. Pressley, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychology and Religion, Drew University. Professor Arthur Pressley's work involves cross-cultural studies focusing on culture and personality, pastoral care and counseling, and objective personality tests.
Marsha Lichtenstein, Ph.D., University of New Mexico, is a sociologist and mediator. She has conducted studies throughout the country on student motivation, behavior, and success. She provides conflict resolution services to families, schools, and individuals through her company, IMAGINE Mediation.
Mr. Thomas J. Falocco, Organizing Specialist, New Jersey Education Association. Mr. Falocco is a former teacher, school disciplinarian and track coach and has spent most of his life improving the quality of education for young people.
Mary Tolmie M.S.N., R.N., C.S.N. a school nurse at Lafayette Learning Center in Morristown, New Jersey has been a nurse for 27 years. She has worked 12 of those years as a school nurse for special needs students, and 7 of those years, she worked exclusively with high risk teens.
Ms. Peggy Crabtree, Human Resources Consultant. Ms. Crabtree has a background as program director of a national assault intervention project for young people.
Julia Masi, Ph.D., is a researcher and human rights advocate. She has twenty years of experience working with teenagers and young adults suffering the effects of poverty.
Tom Letson, MA, LPC, NCC, is a Student Assistance Coordinator at a New Jersey public school district. He’s a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Substance Awareness Coordinator and Alcohol and Drug counselor. Tom has worked in probation and substance abuse prevention and treatment program administration. He’s a published author and a successful high school football coach.
Ms. Ora Bailey-Hill, B.A., Kean College, NJ is a Career Educator with 32 years of teaching children, 29 years of which have been in the Plainfield, New Jersey School District. She was named The Courier-News 2006 Teacher of the Year. She is also a professional diversity trainer who writes stories, books and poetry in her spare time. She is also a former Vice-President of the Plainfield Education Association, community activist and past YWCA Board of Directors member.
Mr. Lefkowitz has been involved with civic affairs and helping people for most of his life. He is President and Founder of MGR, Inc., which represents the Educational Opportunity Fund, which trains economically and socially disadvantaged students in leadership skills to prepare them for college. MGR. Inc. also represents ASTIRA, a program for junior and senior high school Latino students, training them in leadership development. Previously Mr. Lefkowitz founded the Multidistrict Institute for Political Education, which taught the basics of good citizenship to high school students and is still utilized by various schools throughout the country. He has worked for many years representing the New Jersey Conference of Mayors and currently is their economic development adviser.
Mr. Levine is currently mayor of Franklin Township, New Jersey. He is a certified public accountant and brings his many years of financial expertise to the position of treasurer. He has also devoted many hours as a volunteer on various projects helping young people.
Dave Street has over 15 years of experience bringing his educational and motivational programs to over 50,000 students and education professionals each year. He has been honored by the NJ State Senate for his work.
An affiliate member of the NJ Conference of Mayors, Dave was named to the NJ Conference of Mayor's Special Task Force on Youth and School Violence. He is a state approved presenter of the NJ Clean Communities Program, where he developed programs targeted to "at risk" youth in alternative high schools and detention centers. Dave’s programs are listed as part of the NJ Character Education Network.
In addition to holding a Master's Degree in Education from Rutgers University, Dave Street rounds out his resume with extensive experiences in the entertainment industry. A former stand-up comic, Dave Street has worked with musicians and bands and has written lyrics that have been recorded by several east coast bands.
His combined background in education and entertainment has provided him with a wealth of interesting anecdotes to share with young people. His sincerity in helping them find positive solutions to the problems of life is immediately clear and helps him to communicate with audiences of all backgrounds.
